Primary schools together received almost £30,000 worth of laptops and computer equipment for pupils during the lockdown. Elstree & Borehamwood Town Council handed out grants both in September and last month to ten schools, which has been vital to making home learning easier. The schools which received grants were Kenilworth, Cowley Hill, Woodlands, St Teresa’s, St Nicholas, Meryfield, Summerswood, Parkside, Saffron Green and Monksmead. Town mayor Simon Rubner said: The council is very proud to have played a small part in helping these students to maximise their education in what has been an incredibly difficult time for them, their families and their teachers alike.

COVID infection rates are plummeting in Barrow - and some areas could have recorded zero new cases. Data is unavailable in four areas in the borough where fewer than three cases were recorded in the seven days to March 4. Four new cases have been recorded in the borough so far this week, with a total of 30 recorded across the seven days previously.
